I review books based on a five-star rating system, similar to the one Goodreads employs. I do not award half-star ratings as a general rule but will occasionally make a note of any round-ups or round-downs I feel are necessary to discuss.
The stars mean:
★★★★★ = Amazing! Sensational! I loved and adored this book.
★★★★ = I really liked this book, but I had a few problems with it.
★★★ = I didn’t love this book, but I didn’t hate it either. It was very middle of the road.
★★ = This book was eh. I did not like it much, but I can recognize its good qualities.
★ = I loathed this book entirely and will never subject myself to it again.
As of right now, I do read and accept ARCs from authors and publishers.
For self-published authors, please note that you are welcome to pitch your novel to me to be considered for reading and reviewing. However, I reserve the right to accept and deny any submissions as I see fit on a case-by-case basis and as my time allows. This is to both of our benefits and isn’t anything personal.
Please note: I will not accept submissions that have not undergone several rounds of editing. This includes developmental editing and line editing. If at any point I have felt led astray and wind up reading your rough draft, or something close to it, my review of your book will not be favorable, if I decide to finish it at all.
